How it’s played

Scotch (also "Six-Point" or 6-6-6) is a 2v2 own-ball game with up to six points on every hole: two for the low individual ball, two for the low team total, one for a birdie by either partner (it cancels if both sides make one), and one for closest to the pin, picked on the play screen. Points the two sides win on a hole cancel — a 4–2 hole banks the winner 2 — and a side that takes every point on an un-pushed hole gets the umbrella, which doubles it. A press doubles the points from the hole it is called on.

Teams are fixed by default. With rotating partners the pairing changes every six (or three) holes, cycling through all three pairings from the seat order, and each player keeps their own running total.

Settlement. Every player settles the point difference with every other player at the amount per point, with each player carrying the points their side banked. With fixed teams that means each loser pays EACH winner the net: if Team 1 (A and B) banks 90 net points at $1, C and D each owe A $90 and B $90, so A and B are +$180 each and C and D −$180 each — every player moves twice the net differential. Rotating partners settle the same way over what each player's sides banked: if A's side sweeps every hole for 30 points a block, A has banked 90 and B, C and D 30 each, so A is +$180 and the others −$60 each.
